Informal Dinner at The Buggy Factory Sept 9th .......... Next Meeting Tuesday September 16, 2025
"Once a Marine, always a Marine" is familiar to us all. It is that feeling you get when you see a Marine Corps sticker on a car or a home proudly displaying the Marine Corps colors. All we need to do is knock and that Marine will be there for us. It is not just a tag line on a commercial. That flag is the embodiment of our soul. Despite our many years of service to different causes and in different times, we all have that one tangible thing in common: it is the knowledge that we have all earned the privilege to wear the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor; a symbol that will forever be seared into our hearts.
The Marine Corps League in general and the Sandhills Area Detachment specifically offer the opportunity to maintain a lifelong connection with the United States Marine Corps through camaraderie and fellowship with other Marines, FMF Navy personnel, and Associates and to serve and support fellow veterans, the Corps' traditions and the wider community.
Our Detachment provides opportunities for patriotic volunteerism, such as working with Toys for Tots, representing the MCL at local events, or participating in ceremonial events, all the while providing a sense of purpose and lasting identity. We also enjoy each other's company at formal and informal social events throughout the year.
If you are curious about who we are and what we do, come to a meeting and just hang out. For many of us, the social aspects of the League are why we are here but also Marines typically come to believe it is best to always have a sense of purpose in life and for many of us the League gives us that.
We are your "Corps Connection" in Moore County, NC. Semper Fidelis.
